Student noteThis spot in Edinburgh, noto, is good if you fancy something refined and Japanese-leaning. The North Sea crab gets saltier the deeper you dig, so pair it with bread; the grilled mackerel is rich and fatty, perfect with ponzu; the kale salad has tofu, pear and crispy leaves with lots of layered flavour; the beef tartare is heavily seasoned and a bit oily. Overall worth trying but not cheap.
